Steps
Create a contact for each subcontractor with contact type 'Sub'; enable 'Allow Contact Type Sub to login' under Administration > Configuration if subs need to log into Aspire Mobile or Crew Mobile.
Tag snow subcontractor contacts (e.g., a 'Snow Subcontractor' tag defined under Administration > Application > Lists) so they can be filtered separately from other subcontractors on the Contacts screen.
For crews that clock in as a group instead of individually, check 'Prompt for Sub Crew Size' on the crew leader's contact record so time can still be allocated per job.
Create a User account tied to each subcontractor contact via Create User on the Contact screen, and optionally assign a PIN for Aspire Mobile/Crew Mobile login.
Set up the subcontractor's routes the same way as internal routes — using a subcontractor-identifiable naming convention, the subcontractor's own contact as Crew Leader, and the route assigned to the Snow division.
Configure Subcontractor Auto Expenses (from the Estimate screen, the Auto Expenses report, or a company's Auto Expense tab) so vendor payment amounts generate automatically per work ticket — useful since which subcontractor will perform a given snow event often isn't known in advance.
Known gotchas
Auto-expenses only work on opportunity services with invoice type T&M, Per Service, or Fixed Price on Completion, or on services flagged Multi-Visit — other invoice types won't generate them.
Assign subcontractors a pay schedule distinct from employees so they're automatically excluded from the payroll export.
