Steps
Go to Customers > Manage Locations, open a location's edit pencil, and enter the address in the Timekeeper Geographic Information box so Google Maps drops a pin and tells the system where employees must be to clock in
Open the Geo Fence sub-tab, use the zoom controls to view the property, click the Custom shape button, and click point-by-point to draw a shape that matches the property (including parking areas if needed) before saving
Verify the blue Google-placed address pin sits inside your drawn geofence — Google often places it near the road, which can block valid on-site clock-ins if left uncorrected
To require on-site presence, ask your Account Manager or Customer Support to enable Blocking Clock-Ins Outside the Geofence (it cannot be self-enabled) for standard and/or QR-code clock-ins
Monitor Reports > Geofence Tracking Report, filtered by date/location/employee, to audit clock-in accuracy over time
Known gotchas
Blocking out-of-geofence clock-ins only blocks clock-INs, not clock-outs, and is not recommended for sites with poor GPS accuracy or frequent interference
The setting must be enabled by Janitorial Manager support/your Account Manager — there is no self-service toggle for it
A misplaced blue address pin outside the drawn geofence can cause legitimate on-site employees to be blocked from clocking in
