Steps
Request API access from STACK; you must be a customer with an API Enabled Subscription, or apply to build a Partner Integration.
After an API kick-off call, create a Partner Account in STACK's Partner Acceptance Testing (PAT)/sandbox environment and receive OAuth partner credentials.
Authenticate using OAuth 2.0 Two-Legged authorization for server-to-server calls into your own account, or Three-Legged authorization when acting on behalf of a customer's account.
Use the published STACK API Reference to create projects and plans, build takeoff lists, manage items and assemblies, and retrieve quantities and costs.
Have STACK certify the integration in the test environment before your OAuth credentials are promoted to production.
Known gotchas
Only API calls published in the STACK Developers Reference are supported; calling unpublished endpoints is at the integrator's own risk.
Production access requires passing STACK's certification process first — there is no direct path from sandbox credentials to production.
