Steps
Obtain API access to the Propeller platform (public read-only API surface) for your organization
Query organizations, sites, workspaces, and surveys to enumerate available projects
Download survey data products (orthophotos, terrain models, point clouds) through the documented survey endpoints
Retrieve shapes (user-defined polygons/lines/points) and widgets (calculated volumes, distances, areas tied to those shapes) for reporting integrations
For higher-accuracy georeferencing, incorporate AeroPoints (smart ground control points) data into PPK/RTK-enabled survey workflows before processing
Known gotchas
The documented API is explicitly a public read-only surface — write operations (uploading surveys, creating shapes) generally happen through the Propeller app/workflow rather than the API
AeroPoints replace the need for a local base station only when used with PPK/RTK-enabled drones — using them with a non-PPK/RTK aircraft doesn't deliver the same accuracy gains
Large point cloud/orthophoto downloads via the API can be substantial in size; plan for asynchronous/paginated retrieval rather than synchronous single-call downloads
