Steps

  1. Use pump jack brackets with two positive gripping mechanisms to prevent slippage or failure, per 1926.452(j)(1)
  2. Secure poles to the structure with rigid triangular bracing or equivalent at bottom, top, and intermediate points as necessary
  3. When passing an existing brace with the pump jack, install a temporary brace about 4 feet above the one being passed before removing it, then reinstall the original
