Steps

  1. Use pump jack brackets, braces, and accessories fabricated from metal plates and angles, with two positive gripping mechanisms per bracket.
  2. Secure poles to the structure with rigid triangular bracing (or equivalent) at bottom, top, and other necessary points.
  3. When the pump jack must pass an installed brace, install an additional brace about 4 feet above the one being passed, and leave it in place until the original brace is reinstalled.
  4. Confirm the platform is at least 12 inches wide.
  5. Follow guardrail/fall-protection requirements applicable per the general 10-foot scaffold threshold.
