Steps

  1. Identify any anchor rod that is bent, out of position, undersized, or otherwise nonconforming before column erection begins.
  2. Obtain written approval from the project structural engineer of record before any repair, replacement, or field modification of anchor rods, per 1926.755(b).
  3. Confirm the controlling contractor gives the steel erector written notice of any repair/replacement/modification of a column's anchor rods before that column is erected, per 1926.755(b).

  5. Re-verify anchor rod condition against the engineer's approved repair detail before setting the column.
