Steps
Create or reuse a conversion event tied to your X Pixel in Ads Manager.
Authenticate with an OAuth token belonging to a user with AD_MANAGER or ACCOUNT_ADMIN access on the ad account.
POST conversion events to the measurement/conversions/:pixel_id endpoint with the event type, timestamp, and identifiers.
Include matching hashed identifiers (email/phone) or click IDs so events can be tied back to ad clicks.
Verify event delivery and matched conversion volume in Ads Manager's conversion tracking tool.
Known gotchas
The API rejects requests from tokens without AD_MANAGER/ACCOUNT_ADMIN-level access, even if the token is otherwise valid for the account.
The event must reference an existing X Pixel conversion event - you can't post an arbitrary named event without first creating it via Ads Manager or the API.
Server-side and browser-pixel events for the same conversion need consistent identifiers to be matched; there is no automatic event_id-based deduplication guarantee across every event type.
