Steps

  1. Apply for Reddit Ads API access (self-service application, or via your Reddit Ads account team for managed/commercial use), since API access requires approval
  2. Generate a Pixel ID and a non-expiring Conversions API access token from Events Manager in Reddit Ads Manager — the token is shown only once
  3. POST events including standard event metadata and at least one attribution signal (click ID, hashed email, or IP plus user agent and screen dimensions, or a mobile advertising ID)
  4. If also running the Reddit Pixel client-side, pass a shared unique conversion identifier to both so Reddit can deduplicate
  5. Send both standard and custom event types as needed, following Reddit's documented event schema
  6. Check delivery/match diagnostics in Ads Manager to confirm events are being received and attributed
