Documented steps

  1. Ensure you are logged in as a team admin (or owner) of the organization
  2. Create a team under an org by prefixing the team name with the scope: npm team create @org:newteam
  3. Confirm success by the '+@org:newteam' message
  4. Destroy a team with npm team destroy @org:newteam — be aware you cannot remove the built-in 'developers' team
  5. Grant the team permissions on scoped packages via npm access (npm team itself does not handle package permissions)
  6. Provide an OTP with --otp <code> if 2FA is enabled in auth-and-writes mode, otherwise npm runs an interactive second-factor flow
