Documented steps Ensure you are logged in as an owner/admin of the org (managing roles generally requires elevated permission) Add a user as a developer (default role): npm org set my-org @mx-smith Set a specific role (developer | admin | owner) or promote someone: npm org set my-org @mx-santos admin Remove a user from the org: npm org rm my-org mx-santos List all org users: npm org ls my-org (add --json for JSON, or a username to see that user's role: npm org ls my-org @mx-santos) Note the alias 'ogr' also works
Known gotchas Roles are strictly developer, admin, or owner — passing any other role value is rejected Changing a user's role or removing them requires owner-level permissions npm org ls my-org <username> returns that user's current role rather than a generic list Organization creation itself is not done via the CLI — only membership/role management
