Steps
Create an AWS account and set up a destination (SQS queue or Amazon Data Firehose) to receive stream data.
Subscribe to specific Marketing Stream datasets (e.g. sponsored-products campaign diagnostics, sp/sb traffic) via the Amazon Ads API using your AWS account ID.
Grant the Amazon Ads Stream service permission to publish to your SQS/Firehose destination via the appropriate resource policy.
Consume the hourly JSON messages from your destination and reconcile them as delta values rather than cumulative totals.
Combine Marketing Stream with the standard Reporting API for historical/cumulative totals, since Stream only covers near-real-time deltas.
Known gotchas
Marketing Stream delivers delta (hour-over-hour change) values, not running totals - correct aggregation requires your own rollup logic.
You must have an AWS account and correctly configure SQS/Firehose permissions; the feature does not work through the Ads API alone.
Dataset coverage varies by ad product (Sponsored Products/Brands/Display vs. DSP) - confirm a dataset covers what you need before relying on Stream instead of standard reports.
