Steps
Confirm you are integrating against Worldpay for Marketplaces (part of Access Worldpay) — this Parties API is a distinct product from Payrix Pro and from the legacy Worldpay Gateway (WPG), which have their own separate onboarding models.
Choose between the orchestrated flow (one API call with all party details) or the modular flow (create a basic party first, then add payoutInstrument, balanceAccount, and beneficial-owner details in follow-up calls).
Create the party as one of the three supported types: person, sole trader, or company.
Optionally request an identity verification check inline on the create-party call, or trigger it separately afterward.
Add a payout instrument and/or create a balance account for the party so it can later receive split funds and payouts.
Known gotchas
As of mid-2026 this documentation is explicitly marked preview — endpoint paths, required fields, and response shapes may still change before general availability; re-check the live docs before shipping.
Do not reuse field or endpoint names from Payrix Pro or from legacy WPG's own split-funding pages — despite similar marketing language about platforms and marketplaces, these are separate Worldpay products with independent APIs.
