Steps
Go to the public verification page at https://www.nachi.org/verify
If you have the inspector's InterNACHI ID number, enter it directly to see their certification status
If you only know their name, use https://www.nachi.org/verify/lookup to find the member ID first
Cross-check against the public directory at https://www.nachi.org/certified-inspectors, which lists current members in good standing plus any specialty certifications they hold
If someone claims InterNACHI membership but doesn't appear in either tool, file a report with InterNACHI — they treat unlisted logo use as a trust issue
Known gotchas
This is a public HTML lookup tool, not a documented machine-callable API — there is no published JSON/REST endpoint for automated bulk verification
'Member in good standing' and 'holds the CPI credential' are related but distinct statuses; both tools surface them, so confirm which one you actually need before treating a match as sufficient
