Open the public Inspector Search at naesai.org/search
Search by the inspector's name (the tool does not expose a documented public API, so this is a manual web-form lookup)
Read the certification status and any expiration/region info shown in the result
If not found, check whether the jurisdiction also accepts QEI certification issued by another ANSI-accredited body (e.g., QEITF) before concluding the person is uncertified
Cross-reference against the AHJ's own inspector roster where the state or city maintains one, since some jurisdictions require both QEI certification and a separate local license
Known gotchas
NAESA is not the only accredited QEI-certifying body — a blank search result does not prove someone is uncertified
