Steps
Confirm your project meets Florida's Asbestos NESHAP / Rule 62-257, F.A.C. thresholds for regulated demolition or renovation activity involving asbestos-containing material.
Register for a DEP Business Portal account at fldepportal.com/go if you don't already have one (a verification email is required to set your password).
In the portal, click Submit > Registration/Notification > Notice of Renovation or Demolition, and follow the on-screen steps instead of filing the paper Form 62-257.900(1).
Submit the notification at least 10 working days before the project start date — the online submission deadline matches the paper form's deadline.
Choose a payment path: pay $100 immediately using 'Pay Now' during electronic submission, or accept a 'Pay Later' invoice (for either paper or electronic filing) at a flat $200 fee, per the fee schedule effective March 23, 2025.
If you don't finish in one session, use the Continue option on the portal's welcome page — unsubmitted draft notifications are saved for up to 30 days.
Known gotchas
The discounted $100 fee applies only if you both submit electronically AND pay immediately via 'Pay Now' in the same session — submitting online but choosing to be invoiced later still costs the full $200.
The 10-working-day notice requirement applies identically whether you file the paper form or use the Business Portal; filing online doesn't shorten the lead time.
