Steps Contact Provet's Partner Development Manager to enable a test environment and receive a client ID/secret. Send a client_credentials grant request to the practice's own oauth2/token endpoint (e.g., https://<instance>.provetcloud.com/<id>/oauth2/token/). Submit the request as application/x-www-form-urlencoded with grant_type=client_credentials plus client credentials. Store the returned bearer access token and attach it as an Authorization header on REST calls. Re-request a token before the 10-hour access token TTL expires; the client credentials flow issues no refresh token.
Known gotchas Each Provet instance (e.g., us.provetcloud.com, enterprise.provetcloud.com) has its own OAuth endpoints; don't hardcode the base domain. The client_credentials flow is bound to a Provet 'virtual user', which must have the right permissions or calls are denied despite a valid token.
