Steps
Note ENTSOG (gas TSOs) is a separate organization from ENTSO-E (electricity TSOs) despite the similar name and platform style — don't assume identical schemas or endpoints.
Call endpoints under transparency.entsog.eu/api/v1/, e.g. operationaldatas.json?indicator=Nomination for nomination data, filtered by point/operator and date range.
Request either .xml or .json response format by suffixing the endpoint.
Apply date-range and point filters as recommended by ENTSOG to avoid excessive load, since broad unfiltered queries risk timing out.
Cross-reference the official API user manual PDF for the full indicator list (physical flow, capacity, nomination/renomination, etc.) beyond the basic examples.
Known gotchas
Queries have a maximum execution time of 60 seconds — overly broad requests without filters can simply time out rather than return partial data.
Indicator and point/operator codes are extensive and not all documented inline in quick-start examples — consult the full user manual PDF before assuming a field name.
Don't confuse this with ENTSO-E's electricity Transparency Platform (transparency.entsoe.eu) — different organization, different auth model, different data domain (gas vs electricity).
