Generate a security token from your ENTSO-E Transparency Platform account settings
Call the RESTful API with documentType=A44 for day-ahead prices or documentType=A75 for actual generation per type
Scope price requests with matching in_Domain/out_Domain EIC area codes, and generation requests with in_Domain only
Set periodStart/periodEnd in UTC yyyyMMddHHmm format to bound the query window
Parse the returned XML per ENTSO-E's EDI code list to map document type and area codes to human-readable labels
Known gotchas
EIC domain codes are bidding-zone/country specific (e.g. 10YBE----------2 for Belgium) and are not the same as ISO 3166 country codes — using the wrong code silently returns no data or the wrong zone
ENTSO-E has been modernizing the Transparency Platform's UI and backend; older static 'Guide.html' documentation pages have been superseded by the platform's knowledge base, so verify current guidance there rather than relying on cached tutorials
