Steps

  1. Prepare and submit a Construction Waste Management Plan (WMP) with the demolition/building permit application, per CalGreen (Title 24 Part 11) Section 5.408.
  2. Identify diversion methods (recycling, salvage, reuse) and destination facilities to achieve at least 65% diversion of nonhazardous C&D debris before work begins.
  3. Track material leaving the site with weight/haul tags from a certified recycling or disposal facility, capturing date, job address/permit number, material type, and disposition.
  4. Update the WMP during construction if the diversion strategy changes, and keep it accessible on site for inspector review.
  5. Submit a Debris Recycling Report with actual receipts and weight tags to the enforcing agency before final inspection to document the achieved diversion rate.
