Documented steps
Run mc stat ALIAS/BUCKET to stat a whole bucket or mc stat ALIAS/BUCKET/object to stat a single object.
Add --recursive (-r) to stat every object under a path.
Add --verbose (-v) to get extended bucket-level statistics (object counts, sizes).
On a versioned bucket, use --versions to stat all versions, --version-id (--vid) to stat a specific version, or --rewind DATE to stat the namespace as of a point in time.
Use --json for structured metadata output.
Known gotchas
By default mc stat reports the current/latest version; use --versions or --version-id to inspect historical object versions on a versioned bucket.
--no-list disables LIST operations, which can speed up single-object stats or work against buckets with restricted ListBucket permission.
