Ensure an alias is configured (mc alias set ALIAS ...).
Run mc mb ALIAS/BUCKETNAME to create the bucket, e.g. mc mb myminio/mybucket.
Add --region to set a region code for S3 compatibility if needed.
Add --ignore-existing to succeed quietly when the bucket already exists.
Verify with mc ls ALIAS or mc ls ALIAS/myBUCKET.

Known gotchas

Bucket names follow the same rules as S3: lowercase letters, digits, dots, and hyphens; dots can complicate virtual-host-style addressing.
By default mc mb errors if the bucket already exists unless you pass --ignore-existing.
Creating a bucket is a one-time operation; for versioning or lifecycle you must enable them after creation.
