  1. Confirm the failure: mc admin decommission status ALIAS TARGET shows status Failed for the pool
  2. Verify which objects/data are left on the pool from the detailed view (remaining data, migration progress)
  3. Restart the decommission migration on the same pool: mc admin decommission start ALIAS TARGET
  4. Monitor to completion: mc admin decommission status ALIAS TARGET should transition to Draining then Complete
  5. Once Complete, proceed to remove the pool from the deployment per the decommission procedure
