Documented steps Confirm the failure: mc admin decommission status ALIAS TARGET shows status Failed for the pool Verify which objects/data are left on the pool from the detailed view (remaining data, migration progress) Restart the decommission migration on the same pool: mc admin decommission start ALIAS TARGET Monitor to completion: mc admin decommission status ALIAS TARGET should transition to Draining then Complete Once Complete, proceed to remove the pool from the deployment per the decommission procedure
Known gotchas A Failed decommission 'requires manual restart' - the system will not resume it for you Reuse the same TARGET (full pool spec or hash:<hex>) you derived from the pool listing Back up cluster settings (cluster bucket/iam/config export) before restarting to stay recoverable Doc: https://min.io/docs/minio/linux/reference/minio-mc-admin/mc-admin-decommission.html
