Steps

  1. In ShipCompliant, go to Settings > Users, then click Add User.
  2. Set First Name to the integrating company's name and Last Name to 'Webservice'.
  3. Enter a non-functional placeholder email in the form IntegrationName@YourWinery.com (not a real inbox) as the login identifier.
  4. Set a password of 6-12 characters containing at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one numeric digit.
  5. Set Role Type to 'Web Service User' — this is required for any API/web-service integration, and set Associated Partner to the specific system being integrated (contact Sovos Support if your partner isn't listed).
  6. Save, then share the custom email and password with the integrating system, or if you received credentials from a partner instead, add them via ShipCompliant's third-party credentials flow rather than creating a new user.
