Identify all energy sources present at the bay - electrical (powered doors/restraints), hydraulic (levelers, restraints), pneumatic, and stored/gravitational energy (raised dockboards, springs, overhead doors).
Isolate and lock out the hydraulic power unit and bleed down residual hydraulic pressure before opening any hydraulic leveler component.
