Steps

  1. Verify a new gauge kit is checked for accuracy before first use, and at minimum annually thereafter
  2. Use a reference standard gauge with NIST-traceable calibration and a maximum permissible error of ±0.05 psig to verify the field kit
  3. Confirm the field kit stays within the ±0.2 psid tolerance for decreasing differential-pressure readings at each test point
  4. Recalibrate or replace the field kit immediately if it exceeds tolerance
  5. Retain calibration records/certificates, since many purveyors require proof of current gauge calibration referenced on each submitted test report
