Documented steps
Log in first: `railway login` (or --browserless).
Run `railway link` to interactively pick an existing project and service; this binds the current directory for subsequent railway up / railway run / railway logs.
To create a brand-new project instead, use `railway init`.
Pick the right service when a project has several by answering the selector or passing the service position; re-run `railway link` to change targets.
Unbind with `railway unlink`.
Verify the binding with `railway status`.

Linking is directory-scoped — run it in the folder you deploy from.
In CI, prefer a committed link config plus RAILWAY_TOKEN rather than an interactive link prompt.
railway link selects project+service+environment together; switch environment separately with `railway environment`.
