Steps
Register for a free account and copy your token from your profile page.
Send requests with an Authorization: Token header to GET api/data/pv (params: lat, lon, date_from, date_to, dataset, capacity, system_loss, tracking, tilt, azim) or api/data/wind (adds height and turbine model).
Choose the merra2 dataset for global coverage or sarah for higher-resolution Europe/Africa/Asia coverage.
Request format=csv or json, and use the mean parameter to get aggregated year/month/day output instead of full hourly series if you're near your quota.
Call api/limits to check your current, authoritative rate-limit status before running batch jobs.
Known gotchas
Rate limits are low for production use — registered accounts are reported around 50 requests/hour with a small per-minute burst cap, and anonymous access is far more limited; confirm current numbers via api/limits since they aren't fixed in the static docs.
Grid resolution varies by dataset (MERRA-2 is coarse, ~0.5° x 0.625°; SARAH is finer, ~0.05°) and interpolate=false snaps to the nearest grid cell rather than interpolating.
It's a small academic project with no SLA — expect occasional downtime and no guaranteed support response time.
