Steps In CampMinder, go to Admin > Logins and Permissions > API Access Admin (Beta) and click Create API Key Select which APIs the key can access (e.g., Financial, Camper) and set an expiration date up to one year out Click Create Subscription Keys to generate the paired primary/secondary subscription key for the same scope Use the Documentation Login link with your API key to reach the interactive API documentation portal Call the 'Get JWT With ApiKey' endpoint with your API key and subscription key to receive a bearer token Include the JWT as the Authorization header on subsequent API calls; request a new token after it expires
Known gotchas API keys are immutable once created — to change scope or expiration you must delete the key and issue a new one, then update the integration JWT tokens are only valid for 1 hour, so integrations must refresh the token rather than caching it long-term Unrenewed keys are automatically deleted 30 days after their expiration date
