Steps
Authenticate to the Teachworks API (Growth/Premium plan)
Call the Tutor Availability endpoint(s) to retrieve each employee's open teaching slots for scheduling
Call the employee hours/lesson-wage endpoints to pull earned wages for a pay period
After running payroll externally, use the Create Wage Payment / Update Wage Payment endpoints, plus the Other Compensation endpoints, to post bonuses, reimbursements and completed wage payments back into Teachworks
Use the Work Type endpoints if compensation needs to be recorded against non-teaching events (e.g. admin time, training)
Known gotchas
Wage/compensation data is sensitive — restrict API credentials used for payroll sync to admins and store them accordingly
Employee status must be set correctly (via the Set Employee Status endpoint) before wage data will reflect an active vs. terminated tutor
