Steps
Check your certification expiration date; NRPA introduced a two-path renewal policy for CPSIs expiring July 1, 2026 or later.
Choose Option 1 (retake the current CPSI exam) or Option 2 (submit a CEU-based recertification application).
If pursuing CEUs, confirm you've accumulated the required playground-safety CEUs split across NRPA's designated core competency groups, with a minimum from each group.
Submit the recertification application through NRPA's online certification system before your certification lapses.
If certification expires before the CEU application is submitted, plan to retake the full exam, since NRPA requires re-examination for lapsed credentials.
