Documented steps

  1. Set up a Railway API token and send it as the Authorization: Bearer header to https://backboard.railway.com/graphql/v2
  2. Run `query variables($projectId: String!, $environmentId: String!, $serviceId: String, $unrendered: Boolean) { variables(projectId: $projectId, environmentId: $environmentId, serviceId: $serviceId, unrendered: $unrendered) }` with unrendered: true
  3. Values come back with reference syntax unresolved, e.g. ${{Postgres.DATABASE_URL}} instead of the resolved postgres connection string
  4. Use this when you need the literal stored values rather than their computed forms
