Steps
In Campminder, go to Admin > Logins and Permissions > API Access Admin (Beta) and click 'Create API Key'
Select which APIs the key can access and set an expiration date (max one year from creation), then generate the API key and its paired subscription key
Click the 'Documentation Login' link and authenticate with the API key to reach the interactive API documentation
Call the 'Get JWT With ApiKey' endpoint with your API key and subscription key to obtain an authorization token
Use the returned JWT as a Bearer token on subsequent calls to endpoints covering camper, family, group, and staff data
Known gotchas
API keys are immutable — to change which APIs or camps a key can access you must delete it and generate a new one, then update your integration
Issued JWTs expire after 1 hour, so long-running jobs must refresh tokens frequently
Keys not renewed after the 60-day pre-expiration notice are deleted 30 days after expiration
