Open TCEQ Central Registry's "Search by Facility/Site (Regulated Entity)" tool
Set the Program drop-down to "SLUDGE"
Search by street address, county, RN number, RE name, or Additional ID (transporter registration number)
Open the matching RN Number record and check the "Permits, Registrations, or Other Authorizations" section for the registration number
Distinguish transporters (5-digit numbers starting with 2) from septage land-application sites (6-digit numbers starting with 7) in the results
Known gotchas
The same search surfaces both transporters and land-application sites, which use different registration-number formats - don't conflate them
The tool confirms registration status only, not current compliance history - contact the program directly for that
For lists of transporters registered for a specific waste type (e.g., chemical toilet waste) in an area, TCEQ says to contact the program directly rather than relying on the public query tool
