Provision access to the Commercial Credit Risk product at developer.equifax.com and obtain OAuth 2.0 client credentials scoped to commercial endpoints
POST to the Equifax /oauth/token endpoint for an access token using client-credentials grant
Submit a business inquiry POST request with the company name, address, and any available identifiers (EIN, DUNS) to the commercial credit risk endpoint
Parse the response for the delinquency score, failure score, and payment index along with supporting data (tradelines, public records, corporate linkage)
Feed the score and risk factors into your underwriting decisioning logic, applying policy-defined score cutoffs
Refresh the access token programmatically and handle IP-allowlist requirements as in consumer credit API integrations
Known gotchas
Equifax commercial credit scores have multiple dimensions (delinquency prediction, business failure prediction); pull the correct score type for your credit policy objective
Corporate linkage data can associate a subsidiary inquiry with a parent-entity risk profile; review linkage settings in your configuration to avoid inadvertent score blending
Production requests require whitelisted IP addresses as with the consumer API — factor this into any cloud-hosted or multi-region architecture
