Register on the Experian Global Developer Portal and request access to the commercial credit API product group covering Intelliscore Plus
Authenticate using the OAuth 2.0 client-credentials flow to obtain a bearer token scoped to business credit endpoints
POST the business inquiry to the Intelliscore Plus endpoint, supplying the business name, address, and (where available) BIN or EIN
Receive the JSON response containing the Intelliscore Plus V3 score (300–850 scale) along with risk factors and commercial tradeline data
Map the score and contributing factors into your credit decisioning workflow, applying score-band thresholds defined in your credit policy
Handle 'no file found' responses for new or thin-file businesses separately from error conditions; these are expected and not API faults
Known gotchas
Intelliscore Plus V3 uses a 300–850 scale (aligned with consumer scores); V2 used a 0–100 scale — confirm which version your contract provisions to avoid misinterpretation
The endpoint can return either a commercial-only or a blended commercial/consumer score depending on the data available and your inquiry configuration — document which model your policy references
Commercial credit inquiries are soft pulls by default and do not affect the business's credit file, but confirm inquiry-type handling with Experian for your specific product
