Steps
Request a Track and Trace API key on McLeod's Innovation Hub
Call the API for a list of active orders, or a specific order, to retrieve shipper, consignee, and intermediate stop details
Pull historical details and the latest update for the order to build a customer-facing status view
Refresh on a polling cadence appropriate to shipment urgency, since this is a pull API rather than a push/webhook model as documented
Combine with the Order Creation API's returned order ID to tie tracking data back to the originating order request
Known gotchas
Track and Trace is read-only visibility into McLeod-native orders - it will not surface tracking for freight booked/tracked entirely outside McLeod (e.g., pure DAT or Truckstop postings)
As with other Innovation Hub products, this requires its own API key request separate from the base McLeod API
