Steps Confirm the origin endpoint's startover window covers the time range you want to harvest. Grant the MediaPackage v2 service principal PutObject permission on the destination S3 bucket policy. Call CreateHarvestJob (or use the console) specifying the origin endpoint, start time, end time, and S3 destination. Poll the harvest job (GetHarvestJob or list) until its status becomes COMPLETED. Retrieve the harvested manifest and segments from the S3 destination for playback or further processing.
Known gotchas The maximum harvestable time range is 24 hours per job. The requested start time must be at or after the live event began and within the endpoint's startover window, or the job fails validation. The destination S3 bucket must be in the same AWS Region MediaPackage is harvesting from.
