Known gotchas
Legal hold is independent of retention expiry; an object under legal hold cannot be deleted/overwritten until the hold is cleared, even after retention expires.
Requires an object-lock-enabled bucket and the s3:PutObjectLegalHold / s3:GetObjectLegalHold permissions.
Unlike compliance retention, legal hold can be cleared at any time by an authorized caller (set/clear permission).
