  1. Check current legal hold state: mc legalhold info ALIAS/BUCKET/obj or with --recursive on a bucket/prefix, or --version-id / --versions for version-aware checks.
  2. Remove the legal hold to allow deletion/overwrite: mc legalhold clear ALIAS/BUCKET/obj
  3. For bulk removal under a prefix use: mc legalhold clear --recursive ALIAS/BUCKET
  4. After clearing, verify with mc legalhold info ALIAS/BUCKET/obj (should report OFF/no hold).
