Documented steps

  1. cd into the directory with the Compose file used to start the stack.
  2. Run `podman compose down`. This stops and removes the containers and removes the default project network.
  3. Named volumes declared in the file are NOT removed by default; images are also retained.
  4. Add `--remove-orphans` to also remove services no longer defined in the file.
  5. Verify containers are gone with `podman compose ps -a` or `podman ps -a`.
  6. Docs: https://docs.podman.io/en/latest/markdown/podman-compose.1.html and https://github.com/containers/podman-compose
