Steps
In Cityworks Admin, open Configure > Validation > Action Manager and select the Webhook action type
On the ACTION TEMPLATES tab, create a template specifying the destination URL, HTTP method (typically POST), optional credentials, and a custom JSON message body using field placeholders
On the ACTION EVENTS tab, create an event selecting the trigger (e.g. Work Order Status Changed), the specific work order template it applies to, and any field-based conditions (e.g. Status = a specific value)
Link the Action Event to the Action Template created in the prior step so the event fires that specific webhook
Use the built-in TEST button on the Action Event to verify the webhook reaches the destination before relying on it in production
Known gotchas
Webhook behavior and destination are split across two separate records (Action Template for the message/destination, Action Event for the trigger/conditions) that must both be configured and linked correctly
Webhook trigger scope is limited to a specific work order/case template and optional field conditions, not a single account-wide firehose of all events
