Enable automated report generation in the Adyen Customer Area so Settlement Detail Reports are generated per settlement batch and made available via the Report API or SFTP.
Download the report for each batch reference; parse the batch reference and net payout amount from the report header to create a reconciliation key.
Match the net payout amount in the report to the corresponding bank deposit using the batch reference or transfer description that Adyen includes in the bank statement entry.
For each unmatched deposit, check whether the batch spans multiple merchant accounts (for platform setups) or whether Adyen has combined multiple batches into a single bank transfer.
Identify and separate fee lines (processing fees, scheme fees, interchange) from transaction lines in the report; post fee totals to the appropriate GL account.
Flag any discrepancy between the report net amount and the bank deposit amount for manual review — common causes include currency conversion rounding or timing differences for cross-currency settlements.
Known gotchas
Adyen may combine multiple settlement batches into a single bank transfer, especially over weekends — your reconciliation logic must handle one-to-many batch-to-bank-credit relationships.
Report column formats can vary across Adyen account configurations and report versions; build your parser to handle optional columns rather than assuming a fixed schema.
Reserve amounts withheld by Adyen for rolling reserves do not appear as separate bank transfers but reduce the net settlement; ensure your reconciliation model accounts for reserve withholdings.
