Steps
Generate a Hospitality API key from the Salto Space Hospitality API setup screen
Authenticate API requests using the bearer token generated during setup
Call POST /v1/rooms/{room}/keys to create a room key tied to a specific guest stay
Call the generateProvisionToken endpoint for that key to hand the provisioning token to Apple Wallet
Invalidate keys automatically at check-in/check-out, or explicitly delete a key via the API when access must be revoked early
Known gotchas
This API only supports Apple Wallet mobile keys for guest rooms; physical cards and staff keys are explicitly out of scope and are not manageable through this endpoint set
Creating a new access period/key for a room automatically invalidates any previous key for that same room, so re-issuing a key to the same guest still requires re-provisioning on their device
Room names and key identifiers cannot contain the characters ? / : % # or backslash, which can break integrations that pass through PMS-generated room codes unmodified
