Steps
Request a Client ID/Secret from your local Salto Business Unit (the OpenAPI reference itself is public, but credentials are gated).
Authenticate using OpenID Connect on top of OAuth2 to obtain a token required on every call.
Create a PodAccessCode or SiteUserPin scoped to the guest's stay dates and door/site.
Alternatively, issue a Voucher for temporary or one-time access where a persistent PIN isn't appropriate.
Revoke or let the code/voucher expire automatically at end of stay, and confirm via the Locks resource that access was correctly scoped.
Known gotchas
Credential issuance is regional (per local Salto Business Unit), so lead times and contacts differ by market.
PodAccessCodes, SiteUserPins, and Vouchers have different lifecycle semantics — pick the type matching your guest-access use case rather than defaulting to PINs for everything.
