Steps
List all memberships configured for the center to find the membership to sell.
Confirm the membership's payment criteria (especially for recurring memberships) and any configured service/product discounts before selling.
Create an invoice for the sale of the membership, associating it with the target guest.
For recurring memberships, verify the guest's payment method supports the configured billing interval, since guests can pause, stop, or continue at any time.
For non-recurring memberships, confirm the chosen duration tier (e.g., 3, 6, or 12 months) before collecting the one-time payment.
Known gotchas
Recurring and non-recurring memberships are structurally different products in Zenoti (ongoing billing vs. a fixed-duration one-time purchase); the pause/stop guest behavior only applies to recurring memberships.
A membership must already exist (created and configured in Zenoti) before it can be sold via the API — there is no create-and-sell-in-one-call shortcut.
