Steps
Generate a Matterport API key as an org admin and confirm you have the modelId for the completed 3D scan of the affected property.
Use the Matterport Model API to search for and read the model record, retrieving fields such as the model name, property address, sharing URL, images, and position data.
Retrieve the panoramic imagery, OBJ mesh, or point cloud file references if your restoration documentation workflow needs the raw 3D asset rather than just the sharing link.
Attach the retrieved sharing URL and relevant images to the corresponding claim/job record in your restoration management software (e.g., via that platform's own API or manual upload).
Confirm the model's sharing permissions are set appropriately before distributing the link to an adjuster or policyholder.
Known gotchas
The Model API returns data about the scan (metadata, URLs, imagery) — it does not generate restoration-specific outputs like moisture readings or scope-of-work line items.
Sharing URLs retrieved via the API respect the model's existing sharing/privacy settings in Matterport; the API does not override those settings.
Large asset downloads (point cloud, OBJ mesh) can be substantial in size — confirm your workflow actually needs the raw mesh versus just the sharing URL and images before pulling it.
