Steps

  1. Flash the ratgdo board with the esphome-ratgdo external component via ESPHome, wiring it to your Chamberlain/LiftMaster (or dry-contact) opener's existing wall-control terminals.
  2. Add the ratgdo cover platform to your ESPHome YAML, which exposes a Home Assistant cover entity mirroring the door's open/opening/closed/closing states.
  3. For "yellow learn button" Security+2.0 openers, use the exposed light, wireless-lock, and obstruction binary_sensor entities for status beyond door position.
  4. Call the standard ESPHome/Home Assistant cover services against the entity to operate the door.
  5. Alternatively expose the same firmware to Homebridge via hjdhjd/homebridge-ratgdo for HomeKit control without Home Assistant.
