Steps

  1. Confirm the Circle community is on a Business plan or above, since Admin/Headless API access is gated by plan tier.
  2. Generate an Admin API token from Developers > Tokens in the Circle admin panel.
  3. Authenticate requests to the v2 Admin API (api.circle.so / api-headless.circle.so) with the token as a Bearer credential.
  4. List, search, and update members (including tagging and profile fields) via the members endpoints in the Admin API v2 reference.
  5. Create or configure spaces (community sub-areas) via the spaces endpoints for programmatic community structure management.
  6. Note Circle's original 'Public API' is now frozen as 'Admin API v1' (bug-fix-only); build new integrations against v2.
