Steps

1. Sequence the process in progressively finer stages -- an initial coarser grinding stage to expose the target aggregate level and remove surface imperfections, followed by progressively finer honing stages, then polishing stages -- without citing specific grit numbers as a fixed industry-wide standard, since grit progressions vary by manufacturer tooling system and project scope.
2. Apply the chosen densifier at the point in the sequence specified by that product's manufacturer instructions, commonly after initial grinding exposes the surface and before the finer honing/polishing stages.
3. Confirm each stage fully removes the scratch pattern of the prior, coarser stage before advancing, since skipping stages or advancing early leaves visible scratch marks in the final polish.
4. Plan dust control (wet or dry method with vacuum/dust collection) consistent with OSHA Table 1 requirements throughout the entire sequence, not just the initial coarse pass.
5. Confirm the target final sheen (matte, satin, high-gloss) with the owner via an approved sample panel before finalizing how many honing/polishing stages will be run, since sheen level is achieved by the number and fineness of finishing stages rather than a single polish step.
